SophieSophie Bell Ayres ’77

A racquet sports athlete (and captain of both Women’s Squash and Women’s Tennis as a student), Sophie has channeled her competitive spirit to achieve her personal, professional and philanthropic goals. Trinity has benefited from her wisdom and commitment as a past member of the Board of Fellows and the Board of Trustees. She currently is a member of the Women’s Leadership Council and also serves as a Presidential Adviser. When asked to be a cochair of the Legacy Initiative of the All In campaign, she immediately agreed because she is all in!

SteveSteve Elmendorf ’82

Development of critical thinking and persuasive communication are central to a liberal arts education. These clearly are skills that Steve honed during his Trinity years, in the classroom as well as in his leadership roles as editor-in-chief of the Tripod and President of the Inter-Fraternity Council. In his professional life he has put his skills to use as a political staffer, strategist and advisor, and as the co-founder of Subject Matter, a strategic communications and government relations consulting firm in Washington, D.C. In recent years Steve has turned his sharp intellect to help move Trinity forward by volunteering first on the Board of Fellows and currently as a member of the Board of Trustees.

DougDoug Tansill ’61

Doug certainly knows the importance of legacy at Trinity. His father was a member of the Class of 1922, and he has two Trinity children who are both married to Trinity spouses. A winner of the Eigenbrodt Cup (as was his father), Doug is a member of the Wall of Honor and has served Trinity in many capacities. Doug remains deeply engaged with the college, and we are better for his care. He is a trustee emeritus and is currently a member of the Presidential Advisers.
